Philippians 4:19, NIV: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."
We all have needs. Physical needs, emotional needs, and spiritual needs are just to name a few. Needs can be described as something that is necessary in order to lead a healthy life.
We may not always verbalize our needs, but they are constant. For example, I need my legs to mobilize in order to go on my walks every morning. But I don't always verbalize that I need. I simply get up and attempt to walk. It's a need that can't be taken for granted.
This morning as I read this scripture, it helped me lean in closer and trust that God knows my needs. From the pantry in my kitchen to the need for a call from a loved one, there is no need in my life that God is not intricately aware of and able to supply. God created us with the element of need - with intention to meet those areas.
My Day 5 challenge was to own the needs in my life. To bring them to the surface and accept the fact that I am deserving of having those needs met. I started to write down some of my innate needs during my solitude time this morning. The list included needs such as love, healing, finances, joy, hope, closure, peace and strong faith. At first it was hard to articulate my needs on paper because by nature it is hard for me to ask for things. But the more I wrote, the easier it became to ask this morning.
When God meets our needs, it may not appear to be magical. There may be some work involved on my end to get to the place of fulfillment. If I have the need for healing, I must put myself in a position to experience the healing - letting go of those things that will defeat the process. Take time to verbalize your needs and trust God to meet them.
